Aurora | Director, San Marcos USD
Aurora and her law enforcement husband are San Marcos residents and the parents of four children. Their oldest son graduated from California State University San Marcos in 2020. Their oldest daughter is a senior at Calvin Christian School and their two younger daughters are at Discovery Elementary School.
As a native San Diegan, Aurora attended National City schools and San Diego State University. She is a former teacher and former Director of Resident Services with Pacific Southwest Community Development Corporation, an affordable housing developer and residential service provider. As Director, Aurora oversaw educational and social services for over 17,000 low income residents in San Diego County.
Aurora has volunteered in her children’s schools and has served on the PTA, School Site Council, Preschool District Representative Committee, Special Education Parent Committee, and English Learner Advisory Committee.
Aurora holds a BA degree in Spanish Language and Mexican-American Studies and is currently working in customer relations for a company located in Carlsbad.
